Sitting on the divan beside my window gazing at the beautiful fall through my window, sighing, turning around and picking up my journal placing it on my lap turning a page, flicking my pen back and forth between fingers, thinking of how to express my love for words, so here I begin writing…… I question myself, what thoughts do people have when they hear the term “word”? A pail of alphabets combined together to form a word or a pail of words mixing together to form sentences. Well I think word represents thoughts. In addition, it also brings a container of emotions. Words have energy and power with the ability to hurt, help, heal, hinder, harm, humiliate and to humble.

How does it feel when you read books? Or how does it feel when you hear music? Does it feel like a get away from present? Does it feel like it gives you incomparable pleasure? Do you know the secret behind these reasons? The secret is words, each word has a meaning which combined can turn a normal phrase into a phrase with deeper meaning which touches your soul. People use drugs to escape the present or to escape worldly tension, but my drug is words because it delights my soul.

Eyes are the window to the soul; this means that eyes provide a lot of information about another person’s emotional state. According to the psychologists’ research, they claim that the size of the pupils tell us a lot about the emotions and intentions of their owners. When people talk, listen carefully to the words they use, it often reflects their mood, character and personality. If eyes are the window to the soul, then words are the gateway to the mind; allowing you to understand yourself more. Writing down something about yourself can help you relieve your emotions, writing can be considered as a remedy or therapy intended to relieve/heal making you feel dispassionate.

One thing which all of us should have is “confidence”… confidence for the words spoken for instance, when you are being optimistic or use words which make you feel finer, you will be hale and hearty, happy and successful. What matters the most is how you use words to change yourself, for instance, let me share a quote from Golda Meir “Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement”. The words used in the quote sum into a phrase that motivate and inspire us to not give up and keep moving towards success. So, in short what matters the most is what you say to yourself.

Practice what you preach; begin working on your words before you advise others to work on it. Look within your soul, do you really carry out actions as per your words? If you do not, do not preach either. I will pursue my words... Will you?

Words can carry a negative or a positive sentiment. Negative words are those which do not posses positive qualities. Is it not easy to spread negativity nowadays? Of course it is! Just think for a minute, haven’t you noticed in your surroundings people made fun of for their appearance, race and their religion? Smoking kills so does word; smoking is associated as one of the greatest public health disaster and words do the same, if words are used wrongfully it can make a person have psychological issues. If you can refrain yourself from smoking in order to avoid health issues, why not refrain yourself from using words that can be hurtful to yourself and others around you? So be careful with your words. Once they are said, they can be only forgiven but not forgotten.

Positive words are those which do not posses negative qualities. Just think have you ever seen something positive happen in your surroundings? Or question yourself if you have ever taken an initiative to do something positive? I bet you will be surprised at how much negativity you see and do. The words you choose to speak have more power than you can imagine, one kind word can change someone’s entire day. Being optimistic builds a better us and unknowingly changes someone’s life too. So why should we not be positive and assist someone change their life, show them light in the darkness they are surrounded by? It is a simple task to do, and trust me, you will be content knowing that because of you someone’s life changed for the better.

Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless - as quoted by Mother Teresa.

Once words pass through your mouth in the light of the day, they travel on immediately into your surroundings like invisible bullets. These bullets split to enter the ears of others nearby, and they travel back inside your brain. In a split second, they have become much bigger words than you could have imagined. Since those words can heal and build up, or they wound and tear down, one must be careful of what he/she speaks.

You are the master of your words, rule them and make a difference. Everyone has to stop the urge of using words that are hurtful to others just to make themselves feel better about their inner self. Begin using positive words, it will help you heal and others, one act of kindness will change everything. Remember, if you do not achieve anything do not be upset be optimistic as everything happens for a reason. Better opportunities await and everything can change.
Secondly, do not make someone feel like they do not belong on this mother earth just because their physique, religion or race is not the same as yours. Furthermore, we should think before we speak, we must discipline ourselves to speak in a way that conveys respect, gentleness and humility.
I will end by hoping that my message is as clear as crystal.
