Topic: Clan and Village

As the saying goes by “seeing is believing”

Students saw:

1) Different types of huts,

        o Cone shaped huts

        o Rectangular shaped huts

        o Flat roof shaped

2) Village lifestyle,

3) Village culture,

4) Some of the household items and weapons used by the villagers.

        Students were amazed to see small huts with minimum ventilation.

        Men were given superiority over women.

        There are more than 120 tribes in Tanzania.

        Short history of the Village Museum was shared.

        Built in 1966 in Dar es Salaam and opened for public in 1967

        Other museums are in Zanzibar, Bagamoyo, Arusha, Kigoma and Songea

It is an educative and interesting place to visit for students to learn about villages and its lifestyle!
